Diary, 1899-1900.

Documents daily activities of Walter Dawkins in 1899 and a few reflections written in Jan. 1900. Entries are each about a page in length and open with a description of the day's weather. Dawkins then jots a few remarks about what he did for the day--noting legal dealings, property transfers, buying stock, social events, visiting with friends or relatives, attending the theater, riding his bicycle, etc. He also offers commentary on local and national political events, including a treaty between the United States and Spain, fighting in the Phillipines, and appointments to the Baltimore City Council. At the end of 1899, Dawkins laments over the deaths of his brother and a friend, Philip H. Dorsey.
